Litigation Lawyer Opportunities (1-5yrs PAE)

A well-regarded and growing national law firm with a strong presence in Brisbane, this practice is known for its expertise in defendant insurance litigation. The firm has built a reputation for handling complex and high-profile cases, particularly in asbestos, silicosis, and dust disease claims. With a team of dedicated professionals, including a Partner, Senior Counsel, an Associate, and a Solicitor, the firm continues to expand to meet the growing needs of its national client base. The Brisbane office consists of approximately 30 people, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

The Role
The firm is seeking two skilled solicitors to join its defendant insurance litigation team. These roles focus on:

• Asbestos litigation – managing claims related to asbestos exposure and associated liabilities; and
• Silicosis/Dust disease litigation – handling cases involving major clients nationwide in this specialist area.

• Conducting legal research and drafting detailed advice to clients;
• Preparing court documents, pleadings, and witness statements;
• Managing large volumes of documents and paper-based court proceedings in Queensland;
• Attending Alternative Dispute Resolution processes, including mediations and settlement conferences;
• Representing clients in court proceedings and assisting with advocacy;
• Liaising with expert witnesses, investigators, and other professionals; and
• Maintaining client relationships and contributing to business development efforts.

• 1-5 years of post-admission experience (PAE) in general litigation, with a preference for insurance litigation;
• A strong academic background in law, with additional medical knowledge considered an advantage;
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle a fast-paced workload;
• Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills;
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and client service;
• The ability to thrive under deadlines while maintaining high-quality work; and
• A genuine interest in advocacy and court work.
