What's up dog?

Looking at Maverick you wouldn't think anything was wrong with him . He's stoic , chilled out yet playful and fun to be around. He has a condition called microvascular dysplasia, a liver condition that while is controlled can be fatal. He shares a birthday with me , my best friend in the whole world. When I visit mum in the resthome he comes too and he also visits the other residents .

He is clever and he's fun, and makes me laugh and smile everyday . We have such a strong bond I swear he can read my mind!

He loves all other animals and people and is just and amazing dog. Before our other dog passed away he would come and alert us when he was having a seizure so we knew !

He's my soul dog !

This year, we wanted to give the aroha back to our communities.


Every year, our campaign is supported and celebrated by a variety of incredible charities across Aotearoa, all of whom mahi tirelessly to make a positive impact for dogs in their respected communities.


This year, the winner of the 2024 People Choice's Award will have the value of their doggy prize pack matched and donated to a charity of their choosing.


In addition, every voter will have the opportunity to donate towards one of the 3 incredbile mental health charities or dog organisations.
