Latte and Mellow: Pawsitively Outstanding Work From home Pals 🐾
Born during lockdown, the Rough Collie siblings arrived like a double-shot espresso, awakening our hearts. Every morning, Latte & Mellow wake us up with their “Wet Nose Wake-Up Call” or “the Gentle Paw Tap”. Ever wake up to the rhythmic thump-thump-thump of dog’s tails against the bed? That’s our furry friends saying, “Good morning, Wakie Wakie! What a wonderful day to start working!” and their purposes? To bring laughter, improve mental health within the family, and touch many lives wherever they go.
Latte, nicknamed “Big Boy,” was the largest pup in the litter. His coat boasted a swirl of caramel and cream, and his eyes sparkled like freshly brewed coffee. But he wasn’t just a handsome face; he had a secret talent that set him apart. Latte’s true passion? Music, particularly jazz and blues. Yes, you heard it right! Whenever my daughter practiced her saxophone🎷, Latte would clear his throat (or whatever the dog equivalent was) and join in. His howls almost reached a G sharp with vibrations on his throat, and we’d laugh until tears blurred our vision.

Mellow, on the other paw, is our barbie girl. She is intelligent and passionate. Mellow’s expressive eyes convey every emotion with her ears flapping back as she clings to humans. She thrives on companionship and will follow her favorite humans around like a devoted shadow and whether you’re working, reading, going to the toilet, expect Mellow to be right there like our body guard! Mellow had a flair for drama, earning her the title of “Queen of Drama” and her signature dance with me is “The Chicken Dance”. 🎶
They have a remarkable gift for touching human hearts wherever they go. Last weekend, we visited a café at One Tree Hill. Kids & adults flocked to them, seeking cuddles and hugs. But it was an elderly lady who captured Mellow’s heart. The old lady came and sat quietly next to Mellow gently patting her head. Mellow seemed to sense her sorrow, clung to her like a lifeline and they sat together on a park bench, sharing silent solace. We learned that she’d recently lost her 19-year-old Chihuahua. It was a moment of pure connection to paws and human hearts.
So, dear judges, we proudly present Latte and Mellow—the work-from-home family dogs who bring joy, improve mental health within our family. Their impact reaches far beyond our home, touching the hearts of many. May their paw-sitivity continue to inspire and uplift!
