What's up dog?

Hazel visits Holmwood Reathome In Rangiora once a month, and visits people in hospital as needed. Hazel has a special empathy and gentle nature and knows who needs extra love and therapy. The residents look forward and become excited for Hazels visit. Hazel has a huge impact on both residents and staff when we visit, residents become more happy and talkative when we visit, those who have neurological illness light up and Hazel knows who needs what.

Hazel also is the waimakariri reading dog, and has helped many children improve their reading this has seen these students advance in reading levels at school.

This award celebrates a top dog that makes a positive difference in our society for the work they do to improve human (or animal!) lives on a day-to-day basis. 

 

Reach

Is the dog dedicated to assisting one human, or an entire team or office? 

 

Impact

How big an impact does this dog have in their workplace? Explain how much your canine friend has impacted the office culture, or improved mental health at work or of those around them. Give examples of how they have made an impact.
